interiors. takes observes Carrie Neale processing a traumatic event in her romantic relationship across 3 rooms in her home: kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. using the interior of the house as a physical manifestation of the interior of carrie’s mind, interiors. is an experimental piece that steps out of the common conventions of film to make the audience feel the truth. with no words spoken diegetically, a soundtrack of voicemails, lyrics, and domestic diegesis accompany stunningly simple images captured on 16mm film that illuminate the beauty of what may seem mundane.
