Amani Makee Hill is a storyteller across mediums from Cleveland, OH. Her work focuses on worldmaking and is driven by an impulse toward liberation. Concerned with the politics of aesthetics, particularly Black aesthetics, she uses the legacies of Black thinkers before her to inspire new creative renderings of the world as it is and as it could be. With love and community being central to her work, she hopes to grow closer to her artistic purpose through collaboration and fostering new connections. She has written, directed, and produced a myriad of work, most recently having served as a Co-Producer on the second season of the Peabody Award Winning HBO show, Random Acts of Flyness, as well as having written commercial work for the fashion brand, Telfar. Amani is currently working on a new short film through which she seeks to reimagine “the musical.”
